On Yahoo Finance’s Market Domination, Founder and Chief Investment Officer Chuck Lieberman explains why he remains constructive on stocks, how he is thinking about AI-related opportunities and risks, and where he sees potential themes for long-term, income-focused investors.
Interview: January 15, 2026
Key Topics:
- Macro backdrop: Why Chuck views the combination of steady growth, moderating inflation, and current rate levels as supportive for equities, while still recognizing risks.
- Valuations beyond the “Magnificent 7”: How headline S&P 500 P/E ratios may obscure opportunities in the broader market.
- AI and expectations: How AI-related valuations depend on the durability of elevated growth, which remains uncertain.
- Thematic areas he is watching: Restructuring banks and senior housing businesses recovering from pandemic-era headwinds.
Chuck explains that, in his view, the U.S. economy continues to grow at a reasonable pace, corporate earnings have generally been resilient, and inflation has moved lower from earlier highs without a renewed spike. Taken together, he believes these factors create a constructive environment for equities, while recognizing that market conditions can change and that uncertainty around policy and geopolitics remains.
Rather than focusing only on a small group of very large technology and AI-related companies, Chuck highlights the importance of diversification across a wider set of businesses. He notes that AI-related stocks often trade at higher valuations because investors expect strong growth for an extended period, and that the path of that growth is uncertain. He also points to themes such as large U.S. banks going through restructuring and select nursing home and assisted-living businesses that are still recovering from the COVID period. In his view, these areas may offer a combination of current income and potential for improvement, but they also involve meaningful risk and may not suit every investor.
